Officer-involved shooting in Colorado Springs

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office tells KRDO NewsChannel 13 that investigators responded to an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night.

An El Paso County spokeswoman tells us police responded to a burglary call just after 8:45 p.m.

Once officers arrived they say someone opened fire, shooting at them.

A chase began on Ruskin Drive, eventually ending in a traffic crash before more shots were fired.

Eventually they apprehended the gunman, who was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The police officers involved were not injured.

KRDO NewsChannel 13’s Angelica Lombardi reports there is an active crime scene at Ruskin Drive and Tennyson Avenue in Colorado Springs.
