Colorado Springs activists rally for Tamir Rice

Groups across the nation are holding rallies in protest after a Cleveland grand jury decided that white police officers will not be indicted for shooting and killing a 12-year-old black boy.

A small but passionate group of local activists with the “Black Lives Matter” movement gathered outside Colorado Springs City Hall on Wednesday.

“The death of Tamir Rice impacts all of us. He was all of our sons, he was all of our brothers, he was all of us. And we need to stand up for our black brothers and sisters. If we don’t who will? ” said Reverend Nori Rost, with All Souls Unitarian Church.

It was one of dozens happening across the United States, protesting the incident.

“We are determined not to grow weary in well-doing and to continue to advocate for police accountability and for change in our criminal justice system that will make this country a place where 12-year-old African American boys can thrive,” said Rosemary Lytle, President of Tri-State NAACP.
