Manning reacts to Al Jazeera documentary

first up tonight, peyton manning under fire by a documentary focusing on drug use in major league sports. al jazeera’s investigative unit claims that the denver broncos quarterback used a human growth hormone banned by the n- f-l. but the quarterback, who’s used to playing offense, is defending himself tonight. peyton manning calls the allegations. .. sot: 8 and all the time we would be sending ashley manning drugs. completely false. sot: manning sot: it’s completely fabricated, complete trash, garbage, there’s more adjectives i’d like to be able to use. it really makes me sick. manning was one of the biggest players mentioned – in al jazeera’s documentary “the dark side – secrets of sports dopers.” sot: it would never be under peyton’s name, it would always be under her name.” that is charles sly, who spoke with an undercover reporter for the documentary. he claims manning’s wife was supplied human growth hormone, a substance banned by the nfl, while manning was being treated at a indianapolis clinic after neck surgery in 2011. sot: espn q: did you ever use hgh? sot manning: absolutely not, absolutely not. manning has furiously defended himself and his wife – sot: defending ashley. and hours before the documentary aired – sly posted this message to instagram. sot sly: the statements on any recordings or communications that al jazeera plans to air are absolutely false and incorrect. telling espn he made it up – to test the undercover reporter. manning: i’m not sure i understand how someone can make something up, admit he’s made it up and somehow it’s published in a story. according to the clinic, sly, who was unpaid, did not work there until two years after manning was treated. al jazeera is not commenting on sly or mannings claims that their report is false. and in the interview with espn, manning never said whether ashley was prescriped human growth hormone or why… citing a desire for privacy. human growth hormones were developed in 1985. since then… there have been a lot of uses for h-g-h approved by the f-d-a … it can help children with delayed growth, grow to their full potential. and in adults… it can help fight muscle wasting disease associated with hiv/aids but there are uses not approved by the f-d-a. people use h- g-h hoping it can build muscle to improve performance. anti-aging experts also claim h-g-h can reverse the signs of body deterioration as people get older… but that has not been verified by the f-d-a. broncos fans in denver are also reacting to the al jazzera story tonight. many of them say they are standing with number 18. i think theres a difference between him doing that to try and get healthy and those baseball players were doing it as performance enhancing drugs bump to i dont think thats possible. i dont think he would do anything like that. hes a classy guy. he has too much character. he doesnt need to do anything like that bump to hes a classy guy. he always says the right things. hes done good things for us with the broncos. ive been happy to have him here. manning is not expected to play in the broncos game against the cincinnati bengals tomorrow night. kick off at sports authority field is at 6:30 josh williamson will have more on the game ahead in sports … warming
