Crash slows southbound I-25 near Fountain for several hours
Colorado State Patrol says a semi truck hauling gravel spilled part of its load on southbound I-25 south of Fountain Monday.
The crash, which was reported at 11:34 a.m., blocked the left lane. Authorities were preparing to reopen the closed lane as of 2:43 p.m.
The KRDO.com travel tracker showed average speeds of 19 mph on the affected stretch of highway, where the posted limit is 75 mph.
State Patrol says it took so long to get the closed lane reopened because the spilled rocks had to be cleaned up.
