People play life-sized foosball for a good cause

The Christmas rush is through but the spirit of giving still lingers in Pueblo.

The 1st Foos for Shoes happened in the city Saturday.

Teams faced off in a giant foosball table at First Church of God.

Brian Castelucci braved the cold and windy weather to play in the tournament.

He said the game is more intense when it is life-sized.

“Everyone is really close. The ball is bouncing everywhere. It’s kicking off your leg, head — even bystanders are in danger of getting hit by the ball,” he said.

Money from the event goes toward Because International, a group that makes shoes for kids in need around the world.

“The idea is you can have a good time and make a difference at the same time,” organizer Bryan Kelsen said.

The event made more than $500.

Kelsen is a photographer with our news partners at the Pueblo Chieftain.
