UPDATE: Suspect in standoff found dead inside Security home

A standoff in Security ended after the El Paso County SWAT team found the suspect dead in a home after barricaded himself inside early Christmas morning.

It happened in the 500 block of Fay Drive.

Deputies say the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

We’re told the incident was domestic violence related.

A woman was able to get out of the home safely.

The investigation continues.
