UPDATE: Police: Standoff ends at Colorado Springs home

UPDATE

Police report that the standoff situation is now over.

As many as eight people were inside the house when the situation began Christmas morning. It is not clear if they were being held against their will.

They all left the building peacefully, after speaking with law enforcement personnel over the phone.

“There was conflicting information about what was occurring in the home. So we always err on the side of caution for the safety of the people inside the home,” said Sgt. Mike Singels with Colorado Springs Police.

No suspect is in custody at this time, and no weapons were found inside the home.

No one was hurt.

A disturbance inside a Colorado Springs home has turned into a standoff on Christmas Morning.

Police and SWAT are responding to a call a little before 10:30 a.m. at a house on Planewood Drive and Mosswood Ln.

Police say up to seven people were inside the home.

Police were told a man was pointing a gun at someone inside for several hours.

Several people have been able to get out of the home.

It is not clear if the suspect is still inside, but police are treating the situation as if he is.

Neighbors are asked to stay indoors.
