Two people shot inside home, shooter on the loose

Pueblo police are investigating a shooting that took place Monday night.

It happened in the 900 block of East 13th Street around 7:30 p.m.

Police said a 50-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were shot inside a home. A man showed up at the front door and went inside, police said. But police do not know if he broke in or was allowed inside.

The shooter wore dark clothes and a red bandana over his face, police said.

Police said the shooter and the victims likely knew each other.

The two victims were taken to an area hospital and were alert and conscious, police said.

Area residents said the victims are good neighbors and they’re surprised this happened. Police said there is no history of calls for service to the home.

Police are still investigating and hope to have more information as the victims recover. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (719) 542-STOP (7867).
