Grass fire that threatened home on Springs’ west side contained

A grass fire threatened one home in a neighborhood southwest of I-25 and Fillmore Tuesday.

The fire burned two acres on a grassy hill behind some homes in the 900 block of Mesa Valley Road. It was reported at 1:18 p.m. on December 22, 2015.

No homes were damaged and no evacuations were ordered.

The fire has been knocked down, but firefighters are continuing to put out hot spots.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
