Colorado Springs airport prepares for busy travel week

The Colorado Springs Airport is preparing for a busy travel week, as many fly in and out for Christmas.

More than 30,000 travelers are expected to fly into and out of the airport this week.

The airport kicked off the busy travel week by having Mayor John Suthers and Director of Aviation Dan Gallagher greeting passengers and giving them hot cocoa.

“We want to promote the Colorado Springs Airport, what a fantastic asset it is, easy in, easy out,” Suthers said.

As an incentive for travelers to consider flying out of Colorado Springs, the airport is offering free short and long term parking through Dec. 31.
