Cyclists ride for 24 hours to raise money for kids

Cyclists in Colorado Springs completed their 24 hour journey to raise money for kids in need.

The annual Pedal for Pledges started at 11 a.m. Saturday and finished at the same time Sunday. Participants were riding stationary bikes.

The goal of the event is to raise money for Kids on Bikes, which is a program that gives free bikes to kids and teaches them about bike safety.

Daniel Byrd participated in the ride. He said his body is sore after being part of the 24-hour marathon.

“It’s tough. The three of us who have been doing the 24 hours have all had to really push through a lot of mental and physical barriers. We set personal goals to accomplish as much as we could,” he said.

The event raised more than $3,000.
