Girls hit by truck walking to school in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs Police say the driver of a truck that hit two girls who were walking to school Thursday morning didn’t stop to help.

Jesus Guilloermo-Estrada, 57, was later tracked down and arrested.

The incident happened at the intersection of Murray Boulevard and Galley Road on the southeast side of the city.

Police say the teens were in the crosswalk and had the right of way when they were hit walking northbound across Galley. They were walking to Mitchell High School.

One of the girls was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other was able to go to school.

Guilloermo-Estrada faces charges for hit and run involving injuries and driving without a driver’s license.
