Slippery Roads Still an Issue

It’s cold out there! And as it continues to get colder tonight, we’re going to see a lot of that snow that melted today become ice, making driving conditions treacherous across Southern Colorado.

Jack Ladley from the City of Colorado Springs says they’re not done yet. Earlier today he told us: “Right now we’re still on a full callout. We have been since 1 a.m. yesterday. We’re still working on our secondary’s, we’re still working on our primaries, trying to get the slush off of them. Our goal is to keep that water from forming back across the roads and freezing overnight. “

A “full callout” means that every machine and employee that the city has available is in use, and will be until the situation improves. The city has over 40 pieces of equipment, including trucks, plows and sanding machines.
