Area CEOs raise $20,000 in Salvation Army red kettle campaign
About two dozen CEOs and business executives in the Pikes Peak region participated in the first-ever CEO Ring Day in Colorado Springs, raising about $20,000 for the Salvation Army.
The business professionals manned the red kettles for two hours Wednesday.
“When people see those people at the top giving of their time and being generous, it trickles down and it makes employees want to be generous, their customers want to be generous, and I think it’s a great thing to see these professionals giving their time,” said Jeane Turner with the Salvation Army of Colorado Springs.
Lee Bolin from Saddletree and Symphony Homes raised nearly $4,000, earning him the city’s first CEO Golden Kettle Award.
The money raised helps the Salvation Army of Colorado Springs provide meals and shelter to those in need. Every $2 earned serves a warm meal and every $13 provides a night of shelter.
