Giant Christmas tree burns down outside hotel

A month worth of decorating, all gone to ash in mere minutes.

That’s what happened to a a 90-foot Christmas tree outside an upscale hotel in Costa Mesa, California, according to news reports.

Video of the tree going up in smoke show flames licking high into the sky.

According to a UPI.com post, police haven’t ruled out arson in the case.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames but couldn’t save the tree.

It took about a month to decorate the tree, which is part of an annual tree-lighting ceremony, and it contained ornaments and some 20,000 lights, the UPI story said.
