Drivers deal with snowy roads in Monument

Drivers dealt with wintry weather conditions Tuesday, as parts of southern Colorado got hit hard with snow.

Parts of Monument got up to six inches of snow. Early in the morning, I-25 was snowpacked and slippery. And wind gusts created drifting snow, lowering visibility.

Colorado State Patrol said there were multiple slide-offs early in the morning, but no injuries.

Some drivers got stuck in the snowy roads and had to be helped out. Drivers had mixed reactions to the weather.

“I don’t like it, I’m ready to go find somewhere warm, where I can stay up in a cabin or something,” Michael Reed said. “I’ve got to get out of here, it’s too cold.”

“I was jumping for joy. I like it. I like the snowmobile,” Joe Lammers said “I like it, keep it coming.”
