Teachers unknowingly eat pot-laced brownies
Teachers at a suburban Detroit elementary school felt ill after unknowingly consuming pot-laced brownies, The Associated Press reports. Authorities say the plate of baked goods was left in the lounge at Springs Mill Elementary School in Highland Township.
According to the AP, deputies were called to the school Wednesday on a complaint of tainted food. One of the teachers became ill after eating a brownie Tuesday and tested positive for marijuana at a hospital.
Police said two others teachers felt ill, but did not seek treatment, according to the AP.
The AP reports deputies recovered the remaining brownies, which tested positive for the active ingredient in marijuana. School officials are working with members of law enforcement to determine who brought the brownies and whether they were put out intentionally, according to the AP.
