CSPD arrests man accused of taking inapproriate videos of women, girls

Colorado Springs police arrested a man they said secretly took video of women and girls wearing skirts and shorts at a King Soopers.

Police arrested Darrell Colwell, 54, Thursday on invasion of privacy charges.

On December 7, police said the Special Victims Section received a report that Colwell walked around a King Soopers in the 3600 block of Austin Bluffs Parkway, secretly video taping women and girls in skirts and shorts.

Police said the incident happened between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 1 and Dec. 3 and there could be more victims. Police said officers only identified one juvenile victim so far using security footage.

Court records say Colwell put a tablet in a shopping basket then got very close to his alleged victims and positioned the basket under their skirts or shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call (719) 444-7000.
