Paralympian gives winter clothes to people in need
A Paralympian in Colorado Springs is giving back to people in need.
Judo bronze medalist Dartanyon Crockett organized a drive to give clothes to people to keep themselves warm in the winter.
More than 200 jackets were given away at the Colorado Springs Rescue Mission.
Crockett said the clothes drive hits close to home.
“I grew up stricken with poverty my entire life. I understand that homelessness and poverty isn’t a matter of a bad decision or not taking advantage of all the opportunities that America has, it’s a matter of circumstance,” he said.
The winter clothes that were left over were donated to the rescue mission.
