Churches gather to honor shooting victims with prayer vigil
Several Colorado Springs churches honored the victims of the Planned Parenthood shooting on Sunday with prayer.
Colorado Springs Christian School hosted the vigil, featuring several speakers who encouraged community members who are healing from the tragedy.
They say they want to keep the memories of Ke’Arre Stewart, 29, Jennifer Markovsky, 35, and Officer Garrett Swasey alive.
“I believe there’s hope for this city, not just because of this but in spite of this. That we are going to be stronger, more loving, more expressive of the Father’s love for us,” said MaryAnn Robertson, with High Place Ministries.
Organizers say this is the first of many vigils they plan to have in the coming weeks.
