Pueblo Fire Department receives more help

The Pueblo Fire Department is about to receive more help.

Seven recruits from the Pueblo Fire Department Academy graduated Thursday night.

They went through 10 weeks of training to get to where they are.

Spencer Craig said when his son pinned his badge on his uniform, it was a special moment.

“I hope this is something (my son) can remember for the rest of his life and that will motivate him to maybe follow in my footsteps, which would be a great honor,” he said.

Shanna Jeske said she is continuing what her family has done by protecting the Pueblo community.

“I come from a long line of first responders. My dad was a Pueblo police officer and passed away when I was four months old, so I kind of live through him in order to support the community I live in,” she said.

The firefighters will go through nine months of supervised training.
