Planned Parenthood supporters stand together in Colorado Springs

In a nationwide effort, Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood supporters came together on Saturday for a day of solidarity.

About a dozen people held signs and stoof along Centennial, just a parking lot away from where the Black Friday shooting happened.

They say the goal is to promote unity and peace within the community, while also honoring the victims who lost their lives.

“I think it’s wonderful, it’s exciting,” said supporter Irene Luckett.

“My heart goes out to the victims, their families, the people who survived and have to live with that trauma,” said Judy Ingelido, another supporter.

The group also wants to remove the stigma that Planned Parenthood may be unsafe following recent violence.

“My thought is that just makes it that much harder for women who need these services to get up the courage to come here,” said Ingelido.
