Colorado Springs Police investigating suspicious death

Colorado Springs police are investigating after a man was found dead in an open air parking garage near Johnnie’s Liquor Store in the 1700 block of South Nevada Avenue on the city’s south side.

The man was first spotted by a passerby around 9:30 Sunday morning. Responding crews later determined that the man was dead, and had been injured before he died.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit were called in to assist with the investigation.

The man has not yet been identified.
