Pueblo East High School gets fans excited for state title game

Pueblo East High School is on the verge of making history.

The school got its fans pumped up on Friday at a special pep rally.

East High School will be taking on Roosevelt High School from Johnstown, near Greeley, in the Class 3A State Football Finals.

The Eagles will try to win back-to-back state titles.

East defensive end and offensive guard Lalo Diaz said he is excited to be part of a rare occasion.

“It’s like a dream come true, like I never pictured myself being in a state game and just a lot of hype knowing that I’m in it. So it still hasn’t hit reality yet until we start playing,” he said.

The game starts at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dutch Clark Stadium.
