Resources offered for people coping with shooting at Planned Parenthood

The city of Colorado Springs and The Springs Funeral Services will provided resources to help those dealing with grief after Friday’s shooting at Planned Parenthood.

Robert Dear is accused of shooting nearly a dozen people at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood on Black Friday.

Three people were killed, including UCCS Police Officer Garrett Swasey, Iraq War Veteran Ke’Arre Stewart and beloved mother Jennifer Markovsky.

Less than a month ago, Noah Harpham killed three people during a shooting spree near downtown Colorado Springs. He was later killed in a shoot out with police.

The city of Colorado Springs is offering a Community Crisis Recovery Center for people who were in the immediate area at the time of the shooting and their families, area business owners and nearby residents who may need assistance recovering from the incident.

It will be hosted at Mortgage Solutions Financial Center at 3650 N. Nevada
Colorado Springs through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In addition, The Springs Funeral Services will host a community-wide seminar on grief and loss from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.at the Marriott at 5580 Tech Center Drive on Tuesday.

TheSprings Funeral Services will host a seminar for first responders on grief and loss from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
