Timeline: Black Friday Shooting
The first calls for help were received at 11:38 a.m. on November 27, 2015.
Reports of an active shooter at the Planned Parenthood near Centennial Blvd. and Fillmore St. on the west side of Colorado Springs.
Within an hour, a nearby shopping center was locked down and Centennial Blvd. was closed.
At 1:26 p.m., the first reports came out that three officers were hurt. A little more than an hour later, a fourth office was reported hurt.
Throughout the afternoon, police exchanged gunfire with the suspect. A steady stream of ambulances came and went from the scene, taking patients to Penrose and Memorial hospitals.
At 4:52 p.m., officers were able to talk the suspect into surrendering. By 7 p.m., we learned there had been multiple deaths.
Many people were held inside of local businesses, including the King Soopers, until late in the evening. City buses were brought in to drive them to the VA clinic from the shooting scene.
Vigils for the victims, including UCCS Police Officer Garrett Swasey , were held on Saturday. On Sunday, we learned the names of the other two victims. Jennifer Markovsky and Ke’Arre Stewart.
Of the nine people hurt, five were law enforcement and four were civilians. All are expected to survive.
