Moments of silence to honor those killed, injured near Planned Parenthood
The Colorado Springs community is holding several remembrance ceremonies today to honor those killed and injured in a shooting near Planned Parenthood.
A vigil will be held at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, at 730 N. Tejon St. at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. KRDO NewsChannel 13 will be streaming the vigil live online, at krdo.com
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will observe a moment of silence to honor UCCS police officer Garrey Swasey, who was killed in the line of duty. Moments of silence will be held before two baseketball games, respectively at 3:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., at Gallogly Events Centers.
A student group at UCCS, Delta Sigma Pi, will also be gathering to remember Swasey and share a moment of silence at 7:30 p.m. People are asked to bring a candle.
Three people, including Swasey, were killed Friday. Law enforcement officials have not identified the two civilians who were killed. Five officers and four civilians were injured.
