Lion cubs now on exhibit at Denver Zoo

A pair of two-month-old lion cubs has made their public debut at the Denver Zoo.

The Denver Post reports that visitors to the zoo could see brother Kalu and sister Kamara for the first time Monday.

Zookeepers say prime viewing hours to watch the cubs are from 10 a.m. to noon. But the baby lions will only be allowed outdoors when temperatures are least 45 degrees.

The 20-pound cubs, which were born Sept. 10, are growing up to four pounds every week. They have spent the last two months bonding with their mother and getting used to life in the zoo.

Kalu and Kamara’s names were selected in an online contest.
