Fountain Police investigate rash of vehicle break-ins

The Fountain Police Department has received 56 reports of vehicles being broken into since October.

Most of the break-ins have happened between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m.

Police say they don’t know who these criminals are, but they are believed to be between the ages of 15 and 25.

Fountain Police say car break-ins are crimes of opportunity and that cars that are left unlocked are easy targets.

Leaving valuables such as purses, wallets, cash, guns, computers, cell phones and other electronic equipment in your vehicle can also make it a target.

Additionally, Fountain Police say criminals will be checking for any holiday presents that may be stored in vehicles.
