A stretch of Highway 50 was closed while law enforcement investigated a suspicious package Monday.
The highway was closed between I-25 and Bonforte Blvd. in Pueblo
The Colorado Department of Transportation initially said the highway was closed from I-25 to La Junta but later issued a clarification.
State Patrol says a trooper stopped a pedestrian and found what appeared to be an improvised explosive device.
The man was taken into custody, but has since been released. It’s unknown what charges, if any, he may face.
