Robbery turns into shooting and car crash

One man is facing charges after an attempted robbery turned into a shooting and an intentional car crash.

Police said it started when the suspect allegedly tried to rob the victim at gunpoint in the 900 block of N. 19th Street.

The suspect, who knew the victim, fled the scene and the victim went after him.

The victim caught up with the robber on I-25 near Uintah and rammed his car into him.

The suspect got out and tried to run, but the victim again started chasing him.

The suspect fired several shots at the victim as he was being pursued.

Officers found and arrested David Lake and took him into custody for Aggravated Robbery and Attempted First Degree Assault.
