Annual ‘Trees of Life’ event lights up downtown Colorado Springs

Nearly 300 people gathered Saturday for the annual “Trees of Life” event held at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.

It was the 31st year Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care kicked off the holiday season by lighting thousands of trees outside the Pioneers Museum.

The ceremony signifies the start to the holiday season but allows families to come together and remember their loved ones.

“I think it’s really important for people to be able to remember their loved ones in some type of ritual way. It’s hard for people to missed their loved ones at the holiday time,” said Tiffany Buranosky, vice president of PPHPC.

The lights will be on display until the end of the holiday season.
