Breaking records and cinder blocks for charity in Monument

A martial artist raised money for charity by breaking cinder blocks in Monument Thursday.

Tanner Vanbebber smashed 108 cinder blocks in 19.68 seconds, breaking the state record. The final bricks were on fire.

Vanbebber also raised money for widows, single mothers and their children in a village in the African country of Uganda.

Vanbebber originally set the “speed-breaking” record in 2000 by breaking 100 bricks in 20.5 seconds.
