Peyton Manning out Sunday vs. Bears

Number 18 will not be under center in Chicago on Sunday, November 22nd.

Citing concerns of a partially torn plantar fascia for Peyton Manning, sources confirmed to ESPN that the Broncos will start backup quarterback Brock Osweiler in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears.

At this time the severity of Manning’s injury is unknown. Manning was pulled last Sunday in a 29-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that was statistically the worst game of his career (completing 5-of-20 passes for 35 yards with four interceptions and a 0.0 passer rating).

After replacing Manning, Osweiler completed 14-of-24 passes for 146 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Head Coach Gary Kubiak told the Associated Press he met with Manning on Monday morning and told him of his decision – which Manning didn’t like.

Said Kubiak: “I’ve never met a player who agreed to that.”
