2 students found with fake guns outside Widefield school
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after deputies found students with fake guns outside a Widefield school Monday.
Deputies responded to Watson Junior High School around 2:45 p.m. Monday to a call of a student with a weapon.
When deputies arrived, they found two students north of the school with airsoft guns. Deputies said the orange tips were removed to make them look real.
Witnesses told deputies the students showed the guns on school property and waved the guns off school property, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation is ongoing and interviews are still being conducted.
