PARIS – A rock band from Palm Desert was playing at a Paris venue where hostages were allegedly taken and multiple people were shot during an eruption of violence on Friday.

The Eagles of Death Metal played a show at the Bataclan in Paris, France. The band was formed in 1998 by Palm Desert residents Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme, who are permanent members of the band.

Josh Homme wasn’t playing on this tour.

According to a relative speaking on behalf of the brother of Jesse Hughes, Jesse is okay and he’s at a Paris police station, but other members of his band remain missing at this time.

Jesse told his brother that they were on stage when the gunmen entered the concert; they entered through multiple doors. Jesse was able to escape through a backstage door.

Fox News reported hostages had been taken at the concert hall where the band was playing. Then the news outlet reported at least 14 people were killed at the venue.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 are working to get more information.
