Viral video: Skier survives 1,600 foot fall

A video released by a Wyoming production company on Tuesday shows a skier take a 1,600 foot tumble down a mountain in Alaska.

According to Teton Gravity Research, the video shows pro skiing veteran Ian McIntish misjudge the terrain. “From there, my slough took over and there was no way to stop, I pulled my airbag to help prevent against any possible trauma injuries as I tumbled to the bottom,” he said.

McIntish cartwheeled more than 1,600 feet in under one minute, losing a ski in the process.

TGR released the video as a promotion for its upcoming film, Paradise Waits.
