Man accused of arson at group home in Pueblo

A man is in jail after Pueblo police say he set fire to his room while trying to kill himself

Police said the fire broke out at a group home owned by the Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center. It happened at about two Sunday morning on the 600 block of west 10th Street.

Police said 54-year-old Ronald Rodriguez is facing a first-degree arson charge. Officers said he was attempting suicide.

Officers said people and patients at the complex were evacuated but have returned inside.

There were no injuries.
