Homecomings and happy surprises at Fort Carson

There were hugs and tears of joy Wednesday as more Fort Carson soldiers came home to their families.

Hundreds of soldiers with the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team are returning from southeast Asia.

Another homecoming ceremony is scheduled for 5 a.m. Friday.

There have been several homecoming ceremonies at Fort Carson this week.

For one soldier’s son, his dad coming home meant a special surprise.

Specialist Nathan Getty surprised his son at school. They hadn’t seen each other in about nine months.
