New details in local weekend shooting expected Monday

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office expects to provide new information Monday in a Saturday morning shooting that left four people dead in Colorado Springs.

Spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby said the office will release new details but was unable to say when.

Authorities have yet to officially confirm the names of a man believed to have shot three people to death before he was shot and killed by Colorado Springs police officers.

The shootings happened near the intersection of Platte and Wahsatch avenues.

Although the names of the shooter and two of the victims have been mentioned in some reports, KRDO NewsChannel 13 will not release any of the names until they are officially confirmed by the sheriff’s office.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 will update this story as new developments become available.
