Family, friends of Colorado Springs shooting victim describe her as an “inspiration”
Christy Galella was living full of promise. That’s according to those who loved her dearly.
The 34-year-old mother was one of three victims killed in a shooting rampage on Saturday.
“I can’t be more proud of the woman that she had become,” said her father, John Galella.
Her family says she overcame addiction and was a mentor to those struggling with similar problems.
“She was a fighter,” her mom Vanessa Rich added.
Leta Harding also saw her perseverance first hand. As a friend and mentor, she says she saw Christy blossom before her eyes.
“(Christy was) a very bright woman coming out of her shell and glowing and enjoying life,” explained Harding.
Her family says she leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
“She was a wonderful mom, she really loved her kids and they really loved her and we’re going to make sure they become the adults she would want them to be,” said her father.
