This morning Fountain-Fort Carson High School administrators received a tip about a student having a weapon at school. The Administration and School Resource Officers responded immediately and removed the weapon and student from the classroom. Safety and security response protocols were followed closely by school staff and officers to keep our students safe. All students are safe and school is proceeding as normal. We want to thank the Fountain Police Department and the administrative team for their quick and professional response.
This is a good time to remind everyone that we have processes in place to protect our students. Any threat, alleged threat, or rumor should be shared as soon as possible with any administrator, school resource officer, campus security guard, or teacher. This can also be shared anonymously using Safe2Tell at (719) 520-7435. Sharing directly with an administrator, school resource officer or security guard is the quickest way to report, but Safe2Tell is an excellent resource for after school hours or when a student wants to stay anonymous.
No further information will be provided regarding the student or other details of the incident.
