Voter turnout low so far in Pueblo County
A Pueblo County official said voter turnout is low with one week left until Election Day.
Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz said of the 92,000 ballots sent out, only 11,000 have been returned.
He said one of the reasons for the low number is there isn’t the same push you would see in an ever-numbered election year.
“I’d like to remind the voters and the citizens out there that all politics are local and these local races are probably going to affect you more than those national races,” Ortiz said.
Ortiz predicts a 43-45 percent voter turnout by the end of the elections.
