Pueblo driver arrested for DUI after his vehicle is hit by a train

(10/24/15) The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says 62-year-old Robert Casados is facing DUI charges after his vehicle was hit by a train.

Deputies say a BNSF coal train was traveling south on Gobatti place near I-25 and the I-25 Speedway Friday night.

The conductor says Casados was doing donuts in the speedway parking lot, then tried to beat the train at the crossing.

The train collided with the vehicle, ripping of a portion of its front end.

The train wasn’t damaged and the conductor was not hurt.

Casado did have minor injuries.

He is out of jail on a $1,000 bond.
