Students make bowls to help those in need.

Students are using bowls to help people in need in Pueblo.

The 20th Empty Bowls event happened Friday at the Sangre De Cristo Arts Center.

Nearly a thousand people came out for the event.

Students from the Pueblo Academy of Arts and Sciences made ceramic bowls for people to eat soup.

“I like to help the needy, and it’s really fun because I like art,” student Gia Lucero said.

The money from the event will go to shelters and the soup kitchen in Pueblo.
