“Sesame Street” introduces new character with Autism
“Sesame Street” introduced a new character Thursday to help end the stigma surrounding Autism.
She is a preschooler named Julia.
“Sesame Street’s” really been instrumental in bringing issues out and helping kids to understand and to grow and to develop,” The Resource Exchange Community Outreach Specialist Ginger Stringer said.
It was great news for Amy Cupp, whose 7-year-old was diagnosed with Autism six months ago.
“To be able to know there’s other people like him, other kids like him and to put things into perspective, it does really help him, he gets excited,” she said.
