Local voters react to Clinton’s Benghazi testimony

Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee Thursday about the night four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens were killed when terrorists attacked the U.S. compound in Benghazi Lybia.

Clinton hopes to sway voters next year in Colorado who are split on whether the Benghazi Committee is playing politics.

“It’s a gross waste of the taxpayer dollars and I believe the motivation behaind it is to ruin her campaign no matter what they say,” voter Roger Loo said.

“If it’s not cruddy, it sure does stinks and smells like it is,” Colorado Springs republican James Dean said. “My concern is there is just to much cover up and too much secrecy.”

Security contractors, Mark Geist and John Tiegen from Southern Colorado were there in Benghazi the night of the attack, fighting the enemy. They say they asked for help from the state department but they claim it never came for 13 hours. They spoke with KRDO NewsChannel 13 in 2014.

“Over the 13 hours that we were engaged with the enemy, certainly there was enough time for help to come from a number of places,” Geist said.

Clinton maintains what happened that night when she was Secretary of State continues to tug at her everyday.

“I lost more sleep than all of you put together,” the Democratic frontrunner said. “I have been wracking my brain about what more could have been done.”

Clinton’s testimony lasted 11 hours.
