Fort Carson soldiers return home from Southwest Asia

Nearly 300 Fort Carson soldiers returned home Wednesday night. It’s the largest group of soldiers on deployment this year.

The soldiers were from the 3 rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4 th Infantry Division. They were deployed to Southwest Asia in February and reunited with their families after being gone for nearly nine months.

One family we spoke with says it was her husband’s first deployment with their newborn and she’s grateful to have him back home.

“It’s strange to step out of the world for nine months then come back but I have everything in the world to look forward to back here. It feels great.” said Robert Fenoglio.

Several more waves of soldiers are due back in the next month.
