HSPPR to spay, neuter 80 feral cats on Wednesday

In an effort to help prevent cat overpopulation in the region, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region hopes to spay and neuter more than 80 cats on Wednesday through its Trap-Neuter-Return program.

HSPPR is accepting all feral cats and community cats. A community cat can be:

Any friendly feline who doesn’t have an owner but instead is fed outside by one or many of your neighbors.
The feral offspring of a friendly feline who lives in your neighborhood. Barn cats or outdoor cats that live on your property but do not belong to you.

The cost is free for any un-owned cat. All cats spayed/neutered at this event will be ear-tipped; no exceptions. HSPPR will gladly accept community cats from outside of Colorado Springs city limits for this event at no charge.

Cats can be brought directly to the Whiskers & Wags Training Center, located at the northwest corner of the building at the 610 Abbot Lane location, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on October 21. Cat pickup will be from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 22.

The first 80 cats through the door will be accepted. No appointment necessary.
