High School Students Help Returning Soldiers

Dozens of high school students dedicated their afternoon to helping our returning soldiers.

Students from Community Prep joined family and friends at today’s Fort Carson homecoming, but their work started after the celebration.

They offered to help the soldiers by carrying their bags so that the soldiers could hold their families.

Michael Rose – a student at community – remembers watching his father head out on tour.

“When you see them take off, it’s horrible,” Rose told us. “You know you’re not going to see them for awhile. When they come back, it means the joy in the world to you.”

Rose also says being able to help this group of soldiers return to their families quicker is a way he honors father.
